Working with Oppidan Investment Company and Shopko Retail Stores, Hackel Construction was the general contractor for the 26,000 SF Hometown Store project in Gordon, NE. Located in the remote, northwestern part of the state created challenges in procuring labor and material, yet Hackel assembled a dedicated construction team that strategically planned, organized, and worked together to achieve projected timelines and final completion.
What Other's Say
“Hackel Construction demonstrated a highly sophisticated and organized company that is rarely found in smaller markets across the USA. The Hackel Team was well prepared and dedicated to a high level of service.”
- Michael Hoeft
Regional Construction / Facilities Manager for Shopko Retail Stores
WE RESOLVE CHALLENGES
CHALLENGE: MISINTERPRETATION OF FOUNDATION PLANS
The project manager misinterpreted the foundation plans and instructed
the foundation crew to build one-third of the foundation and loading dock
Hackel removed this portion of the foundation and replaced it.
CHALLENGE: INCORRECT GRADING
The grading on a portion of the parking lot was graded incorrectly and this mistake was not realized until the aggregate was down.
Hackel teamed up with the excavation crew to correct the grade which
included removing the aggregate from 30,000 SF of the parking lot,
correcting the grade and reinstalling the aggregate.
CHALLENGE: PROJECT MANAGER RESIGNATION
The project manager resigned during the last quarter of the project and left abruptly.
Hackel reorganized team resources and met final completion. We believe
resources are abundant and solutions are always readily available.
