                Chief Estimator 

                Apply today for a fulfilling career as Chief Estimator at Hackel Construction! Pay is competitive, based on skill and experience. The position ranges between 40-50 hours a week and will concentrate on these prominent roles: 

                 

                1. As a leader, you will be at the forefront of reading contracts, agreements, blueprints, and specifications to successfully estimate project bids, negotiate prices, and terms.

                2. Your experience and strategy will create a smooth preconstruction process to get projects up and running (material submittals, contracts).

                3. You will strive to create high-performing projects and effective communication practices with clients and team members.

                SUPERINTENDENT

                Hackel Construction, Inc. is seeking to hire a highly motivated, self-governing team member who will fulfill the role of job site superintendent and thrive in our positive, quality-conscious environment. This position requires a thorough knowledge of construction processes and offers the opportunity to travel during the week as well as the opportunity to advance in the company. Pay will be competitive ranging from $25-$40/hour and based on skill and experience. The position will require 40-50 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5-6 p.m., and will concentrate on three roles:

                1. Plan, organize, and direct the scheduling of project materials and installation.

                2. Influence and motivate all members of the building process to achieve project goals.

                3. Professionally communicate construction progress with project owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.

                 

                The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

                • Understand the building process from start to finish.

                • Schedule daily tasks and materials needed on the job site.

                • Be detail-oriented, organized, and systematic.

                • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

                • Provide vision, direction, and communication for all individuals involved in the project.

                • Actively pursue learning and seek self-improvement personally and professionally.

                • Utilize smartphone apps and computer programs for specific job applications and project logging.

                CARPENTER

                Hackel Construction, Inc. is seeking to hire a highly motivated, self-governing team member who will join our field crew and thrive in our positive, quality-conscious environment. This position will require knowledge and execution of interior and exterior finishing skills with the opportunity to advance throughout the company. Pay will be competitive and based on skill and experience. The position will require 40-50 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will concentrate on:

                1. The ability to frame and install roofing, siding, soffit, and fascia as well as interior trim

                2. The ability to maintain a safe, organized job site

                3. The ability to positively communicate with customers and the construction team

                 

                The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

                • A growth mindset that continues education in leadership skills to move people forward

                • The ability to self-govern and successfully complete the job at hand

                • Be detail-oriented, organized, and systematic

                • Possess active listening and communication skills

                How do I apply?

                What can I expect from the application process?

                Once your application or resume is received, we will contact you for a 30 minute phone interview in which we will ask 3-5 questions to help us get to know each other and our purposes better. We will then review your responses and either 1) invite you to a formal 60-75 minute panel interview or 2) let you know via phone or e-mail that we have decided not to pursue further interviews.

                What can I expect from a formal panel interview?

                Our panel interviews last between 60-75 minutes and include 3-5 team members who will be working alongside the new team member. The interview will consist of:

                1. 10-15 questions that will help clarify a good employment fit.

                2. A 10-15 minute demonstration of skills pertaining to the open position.

                 

                Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the interview so that you may review the questions beforehand!
